Threats to the ecosystem in Kaeng Krachan national park
This study aims to describe the type and pattern of threats in Kaeng Krachan national park. The data were collected during wildlife surveys project which held in 2015 to 2019 and can be used to inform protection and management activities, by surveying towards the midpoint of grid 2.5 x 2.5 square kilometers 477 grids, total walking distance is 6,890 km are equally spaced systematically, and evaluate the current potential areas for the threats by using Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) distribution model.
The results can classify the threats that occur in Kaeng Krachan national park in various forms, the possibility of each type of threat in each area, and factors that affect the occurrence of threats. By being able to designate an area to monitor threats by considering the area that has a relative level to the threat, resulting from the analysis using the above methods displayed on the map for use in a proactive work plan. Aside from the practical use of the study results in this report, it can also be used as a model to analyze data for the SMART patrolling, reconnaissance of other conservation areas as well.
