Study report on timber volume and value of timber in the Bang Kloy Bon sub-watershed, Kaeng Krachan National Park, THAILAND

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to study the volume of timber and assess the value of prohibited timber in the Bang Kloy Bon sub-watershed. Analysis was performed using secondary data which during the survey of natural resources in the Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex (KKFC) that had been surveyed in the year 2017 by the National Park Research Center (Phetchaburi), DNP Thailand. The survey was conducted using point sampling method in the form of clusters. Each sample group was systematicly spaced at a distance of 2.5 x 2.5 kilometers. There were 38 clusters (190 plots) in the Bang Kloy Bon sub-watershed. The results of the study revealed that the Bang Kloy Bon sub-watershed had a total timber volume of 4,560,530.13 cubic meters. Estimate the value of logs and sawn timber by referring to sawn timber prices of restricted timber species by the Royal Forest Department (2019), it was found that this area had the value of sawn timber and logs of 66,483.98 and 33,241.99 million baht, respectively.
